FS-Line

Designed by Wilkhahn designers Klaus Franck and Werner Sauer

35 years ago, two young Wilkhahn designers realized that prolonged sitting was unhealthy. They wanted to restore adults' natural mobility. After in-depth research, they developed the FS-Line, a chair that revolutionized the office furniture industry. Since then, Wilkhahn has produced 40 different styles of this chair, with millions sold worldwide. They've received numerous awards and are frequently imitated, but not with great success. The principle behind the FS-Line is very simple: "a highly flexible seat shell automatically adjusts to adapt to any change in posture," technically termed "automatic synchronized adjustment," which we call "driving without a license."
